Top Top 11 - The Euro Dream Team of All Time

Do you remember the Adidas commercial from 2006? The one where José and his friend decided to play some football and they picked a player one by one?
I saw that advertisement this week and I immediately thought that this blog needs a dream team. So here it is...

Lev Yashin
"The Black Spider" was a Soviet-Russian goalkeeper. The best goalkeeper of the 20th century by the IFFHS and the only goalkeeper who got the Ballon d'Or.

Franz Beckenbauer
"The Emperor of Germany won the World Cup as a player in 1974 and repeated that as a manager in 1990. Besides this he took the league 4 times during he's career (and once as a manager).

Matthias Sammer
He could play anything, from the defense to the midfield. Showed a great performance on the Euro 1996 and got the Ballon d'Or for it.

Paolo Maldini
The icon of AC Milan. Il Capitano. He won everything with his club and was a runner-up on the World Cup 1994 and Euro 2000.

Lothar Mattäus
He holds the record of appearances of the German national team with 150 caps from 1980 to 2000. Nowadays he is coaching teams around the world from Hungary to Israel.

Xavi Hernandez
The only active player of this dream team. Xavi was the best player of EURO 2008 and won everything with Barcelona and Spain. He couldn't get in front of Messi on the Ballon d'Or voting.

Zinedine Zidane
No need to introduce him I think. The only thing he done wrong was that famous headbutt on his last match, the final of World Cup 2006.

Michel Platini
The president of the UEFA. He scored 9 goals on 5 matches during the Euro 1984, one in the 119th minute of the final...

Marco van Basten
Have you ever seen a volley to the top corner from an impossible angle? Yes you did. That is Marco van Basten's goal from the Euro 1988 final, at the 89th minute (the score was 1-1).

Gerd Müller
"The nation's Bomber" scored the most goals in both Bayern Münich (507) and  the Nationalelf (62). That unbelievable records makes him the other striker of the top 11.

I hope you enjoyed these compilations. Now who would be the best coach for this team in you opinion? Your top 11?

I almost forgot to add the inspiring commercial:

By the way. From now on new post will come every 2-3 days instead of daily updates (at least until the start of the tournament). That has couple of reasons, but the most important thing is that next one will probably be a guest post as promised. The "inverse" of the "The top 10 footballers WAGs of Euro 2012". To be the first to read it submit your email on the top of the site.
